I was driving on GW Parkway around 3 today and just south of Memorial
Bridge I watched a large bird fly close to the water from DC to the
Virginia shore. I did not see it land but as I got a little closer
while in flight I am 95% sure it was a Pelican. I'm not big on tracking
where birds have and have not been seen but in all my years around here
I have never seen one. Any thoughts?
