Hello all
Early this morning I did my BBS route & with some good breeding birds , I
had found a few left overs from the Spring . As June 1st sets off the first
day of Summer I had a female Gadwall fly over at one of the stops in the
Swoope area . This makes our third Summer record for this species . At
another stop I had a Blackpoll Warbler which makes our 5th Summer record .
At a private pond in the Stuarts Draft area I had one Am. Coot which make
our 4th Summer record . To end the day Grabriel Mapel found a Glossy Ibis on
Bells Lane at one of the small ponds . This bird makes our first Summer
record for this species . Good going Grabriel --- that bird was the icing
on the cake . A good start for the first day of Summer in Augusta County .
