Dave & VA Birders,

In recent reports about birds on Laurel Fork Road west of Blue Grass, I have not seen any reference to the condition of this road. Altho I have not driven this section of the road in many years, my memory of it is that it was a very rough road, and one on which you might be advised to take a 4-wheel drive vehicle. I would be interested to get comments from whose who have traveled it recently about what condition it is in now.

I will be leading a group from our Northern Virginia Bird Club to Highland Co. next weekend, and we will look for Alder Flycatcher where we found it last year, which is at a beaver pond on Rt. 250 a few miles west of Rt. 640 (Hightown). The beaver pond is on the left (south) side of the road, and a stream is on the right (north) side.

Good birding,
