My husband and I drove over to Gravelly Point around noon today to look for
the advertised bobolinks. We saw the first one within about 30 seconds of
getting out of the car. As Stuart mentioned in his post, they are in a
fenced area with orange posts. There's a little grouping of pine trees with
a picnic table next to the area, it was a great place to watch. As
advertised, the birds flew up every time a plane took off, but also perched
obligingly on the taller plants in the field, mostly the males.
I also saw an Eastern Kingbird perched on top of the pines and later in the
field.
