Mark Johnson and I went out early last Sunday morning in Campbell County
near Concord. We were lucky enough to hear bobwhite quail in two different
locations. Mark also spotted a red headed woodpecker on S.R. 737 in a
clearcut area. Very hot and so dry that it looks like southern California
around here. Unfortunately we did not find any dickcissels or horned larks
