Was just east of the intersection of Miller's Creek and Peak Creek roads in
Wythe County between Max Meadows and Dublin when I came upon a covey of about
12 Bobwhites sunning in the road about 3:00 PM. I was quite surprised and
suspected that someone had released them, but when I stepped out of the
vehicle, they flew up immediately and headed uphill to a powerline cut.
Pleasant surprise!
