Friend and I heard a Broad-winged Hawk calling above the woods yesterday in
early afternoon. Near stream crossing approx. 2 miles south of Sky Meadows SP.
We didn't find them during the VSO foray at Sky Meadows last month.
We heard a Barred Owl call a few times.
Most abundant bird during our 3+ mile hike each way was Red-eyed Vireo.
Temp was not as hot as it was down below, approx. 88F in mid-afternoon.
