The booby was not seen after the earlier sighting, at least up until the time I
left the park at around 4:15 pm.
An adult Bald Eagle harassing then seizing a Pied-billed Grebe from just under
the lake surface, and a first-winter Laughing Gull, were the most interesting
sightings for me. It was nice to see a couple of folks I hadn't talked to for
a while.

Hello fellow birders,
I went to Claytor Lake State Park this morning 10-19-08 to see if the Brown
Booby was still there. When I arrived at 9:30 AM there were 7 people at the
Gazebo. The Booby had not been seen. At 10:00 AM the bird arrived. It flew
up the lake and dove and then it flew down the lake over everyone with awesome
looks. It flew behind the island and dissappeared. Don't know were it went. I
stayed for another 2 hrs to relocate the Booby. No luck. More people arrived
to look for the bird. When I left at 11:45AM it hadn't been seen. I hope it was
relocated for everyone to see.
