I got a call from Matt Hafner this afternoon to tell me about 2 CAVE SWALLOWS
that had just passed the lookout at Harvey's Knob. This represents a new
species, # 302, for the Roanoke Valley list. He was there with several of the
regular hawk watchers. And if that was not enough, a male RED CROSSBILL made an
appearance. Baron Gibson told me later that they also had a couple of GOLDEN
EAGLES pass by. Also flying over Harvey's today were 18 COMMON LOONS.
