I birded Phelps this morning, Fauquier Co., VA, with my father-in-law, John
Hisle and my daughter Megan. We greatly enjoyed a warbler fall-out of sorts.
In the span of about 20 minutes nine species of warblers were seen actively
feeding along the road just below the sighting in range. They were mixed in
with may Red-eyed Vireos and the usual suspects. There were also plentiful
Baltimore Orioles giving good looks as we shared binoculars. As we were
leaving the dove hunters were streaming in for opening day. I would
recommend wearing orange the next time you are afield.
Good birding,
Phil
