Started my regular Common Nighthawk migration watches last evening at
Van Dyck Park in Fairfax City.  Saw one at 1937 EDT.  Watched again today.
Didn't see any nighthawks, but was entertained for 15 minutes or so by two
F-16 fighter jets scrambling over the area.
I have been checking the nocturnal feeding area at Tyson's Corner
(Cable & Wireless building off Gallows Rd at Boone Blvd.) every other night.
On August 12 I had 6 nighthawks and two nights later there were 5.  Numbers
had really increased tonight as I ended up with a final count of 20.  Unlike
previous visits, they were flying low over the buildings tonight probably
because of the earlier thunderstorm.
