Hello All,
Did the Central Loudoun County Christmas Bird Count yesterday, and wanted to
share some of the highlights for our team.
A first for the count was the Juvenile Black-crowned Night-Heron which we
found for our last bird as darkness was approaching. We were in search of a
Great Blue Heron for our list, as it was still missing. We came across this
Juvenile Black-crowned Night-Heron instead. It was under the WO&D bike
trail, undisturbed by the passing joggers and bikers above.
Other good finds include: Common Raven, White-crowned Sparrow, Tundra Swans.
