Lots of activity in our area, but not much in the way of new birds or
leaving birds until today! I've had Pine Siskins and Purple FInches
at my feeder for about 6-7 weeks. Down in the riparian area behind my
house juncos and White-throated Sparrows have been lurking on the
ground, but now the sparrows are diminishing in numbers. Today I
heard our first two (2) Eastern Towhees down by the creek, so spring
must be just around the corner. Also, maybe it is my imagination but
the Northern Cardinal males are looking very stylish, almost as though
they have molted, but I thought that was later in the year for them.
Perhaps not.
