Hi,
Tonight approximately 11 of us visited the Chimney Swift roost in the Arlington
Village neighborhood. It was really cool. Swifts were present in the area
when
we arrived in the area at 6pm. Upon our arrival at the chimney (which is
located near S. Edgewood St. and S. 16th Ave. and is part of an old apartment
complex) several swifts were overhead. This was at 7:08pm. Swifts poured in
w/in 10 minutes and they began to swirl in a large mass at approx. 7:21. There
may have been 1000 birds. At 7:25 the first swift entered the chimney, the
pace
picked up a few minutes later. At 7:36 the last one entered.
We loved watching this spectacular show.
