On the topic of chimney swifts, I had observed recently that there is a
chimney in the rear of the property on the boundaries of Route 50, Arlington
Blvd,
behind the nursery Craven's, in Fairfax County, between Prosperity and
Pickett, and had not counted at this location, however I was working outside
when the
F-16s doing the maneuvers (some may have heard and seen on Saturday afternoon
near Vienna and Fairfax -6-7pm) and noted that the most agitated birds at
that predusk hour were our neighborhood chimney swifts. They scattered and
chattered throughout the show and obviously were reacting to the airplanes,
because
usually they are nowhere to be found at that time our area.
