Just back from spending much of the weekend in Chincoteague. Highlights
included Eurasian Wigeon (today, but seen by others yesterday),
Black-headed Gull (Sat & Sunday), Long-billed Dowitcher, Tricolored Heron,
hundreds of Snow Goose (yesterday), Tundra Swan and many other species of
waterfowl at Swans Cove Pool. Yesterday, I found both Surf and Black Scoter
in Tom's Cove, and had Red-throated and Common Loons sea-watching. An
American Bittern was seen there today at Swans Cove just before I arrived
to miss it. Also got Eurasian Collared-Dove on Pension St. near Church St.
