Hello all,

We had three Gray Catbirds, a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a singing White-eyed Vireo in the backyard this morning.

Also, as of this morning, there was a COMMON LOON in summer plumage on the pond at the Edgewater Apartment complex in Reston, VA. The pond is viewable from Town Center Parkway south of its intersection with Baron Cameron Avenue. The Loon was observed actively diving and feeding Saturday evening, and we watched it this morning.

The apartment complex is private property without public parking. We observed the bird from the turn lane into the complex. Since the turn lane is part of Town Center Parkway, park with care. There are gaps in the bushes thru which you can check for the Loon.

Good birding to all,
Jay and Carol Hadlock
