At 10:15 AM, we found the 3 adult SANDHILL CRANES near Mt. Solon. After
searching for over an hour, we finally found them in a pasture on the west side
of the road between Boxes 581 & 398. They were 1/4 mile or more off the road,
next to the woods, so a scope was definitely a plus.
Although we struck out on the Sedge Wrens, we did manage to find a few raptors:
N. Harrier - 2 (SW of Swoope)
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2
Cooper's Hawk - 1 (large female @ Sedge Wren spot)
RTHA - 13
Kestrel - 2
There were also a good number of Phoebes throughout the day that appeared to be
migrating.
