Four sagacious people turned out for the Northern Virginia Bird Club trip to
the Remington sod farms on Sumerduck Road and were not disappointed. We had
a least three singing DICKCISSELS plus some females, and two HORNED LARKS
right by the road. The birds were seen at the Woodward Turf farm on Rt.
654. There were also multiple MEADOW LARKS. We then continued on to Phelps
WMA and drove down the road to the Resident Manager's house where the best
birds were YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, PRAIRIE WARBLER and BLUE GROSBEAK.
