This morning I birded Meadowood and found several of the continuing birds of
interest. One Dickcissel continues in the middle of the Mustang Trail loop.
Scott P. and I heard it from about 7:30 until about 9:15, off and on, and saw
it, poorly on several occasions as it flew around and sang from various
perches. Two times it flew over our heads and landed in the tall trees just
before the wooded area. I also heard a chat signing, but was never able to find
it.
I then went over to the horse stables and walked up along the edge of the woods
behind the stables (on the right as you're driving in). At the top of the small
hill I heard a Summer Tanager singing in the woods behind the training area. I
never saw the bird.
A really nice, birdy park.
Good birding,
