I still have hummers at home. Matter of fact I just finished watching a little
girl right outside of my kitchen window. They seem to be gone from our place in
Halifax Co. and also from my office feeder. Have seen, what I have been told
are Snowy Egrets on the Dan River at Union St. Bridge the last three days. Saw
two Red Shouldered Hawks on a utility pole outside of my office this morning.
Have seen several Osprey over the last few weeks hanging out along the Dan
River and also a Bald Eagle once two weeks ago. Saw several catbirds last
weekend in Halifax Co. I miss hearing the Whip poor will, the Scarlet Tanager,
and most of all the Wood Thrush.
