Observers:
Visitors:
The milling and paving crew and all their huge gear.
Weather:
Wow, what a cloud show today. Huge cumulous beauties scudded north up both
sides of the ridge all day. Temps 23-28C. Overhead the winds must have been
out of the south in the morning and southwest in the afternoon. Down in the
gap, the VDOT anemometer registered east all morning, wandered around at
lunchtime and went west in the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
I guess 36 hours of rain had these birds backed up; they streamed down the
east side all morning and went high overhead after lunch. Got the hat trick
on the falcons. Over here in the mountains, Ospreys are pretty cool, but
nothing beats the Merlins.
Non-raptor Observations:
Many Monarchs and Blue Jays on the move.
