Spotted from kayak at various times between 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the point where
you would enter Mouth of Hunting Creek from the Potomac. At first, I spotted a
lone, white juvenile wading at low tide amongst other Great Egrets. About an
hour later I returned to the same spot and saw the same one fly further down
the creek and land in a tree with another juvenile Little Blue Heron. They then
were following the lead of a Great Egret as it moved amongst the trees.
I had also spotted a juvenile Little Blue Heron, roughly in the same area, last
summer as well.
