[Va-bird] Eastern Prince William County

I did some leisurely birding this morning with a Maryland friend and his wife,
looking primarily for summer tanager. We started at the Rippon VRE station in
Woodbridge, (where singing summer tanager is a fixture during my morning
commute), Possum Pt/Cockpit Pt, and Leesylvania State Park. Despite the
leisurely pace we had a nice 3.5 hours of birding, with a good selection of
local breeders seen. Some of the highlights were 2 immature pine warblers, a
worm-eating warbler singing at eye level within 15 feet, great looks at prairie
warbler, and a very cooperative prothonotary warbler. The fun morning was a
reminder of how good this area is for birds, despite all the development. We
did not see summer tanager, but had one singing tantalizingly close to Cockpit
Pt Rd. Here is the list.
