This morning there were 2 Green Herons in Backlick Run, adjacent to Ben
Brenman Park. This FOS date is about in the the middle of the distribution
for GH arrivals at Ben Brenman Park over the past decade. The earliest was
9 April, in 2009. Nesting will start soon at the western edge of the lake,
if past is prologue.
The Hooded Merganser population has dwindled to a singleton; she won't be
here tomorrow, I venture.
Northern Rough-winged Swallows are preparing nests.
