We had a fun weekend at our feeders.
The highlight: today we saw and photographed a loggerhead shrike--a confirmed
life and yard bird for us (I think we had one a few years ago but saw it too
briefly to confirm).
Our huge flocks of white-crowned sparrows have returned.
We also had our FOS Northern Harrier hunting over the fields and FOS Carolina
Wren.
A juvenile red-shouldered hawk flew in and watched from our purple Martin house
pole.
We had lots of our regulars--house finches, goldfinches, red-winged blackbirds,
and our regular Mockingbird.
Yesterday we had our FOS pine siskins, and a flock of at least 100 very vocal
fish crows fly overhead.
