Saw and heard the GC Flycatcher in the big white oak at the edge of our
woods. He stayed all day. Other years when we've had the flycatchers they
have always picked out that same tree.
This morning I had the pleasure of hearing a Wood Thrush singing in the
woods below my house.
I never did see the Scarlet Tanager though he sang high in the trees for
over an hour. It was clearly the "robin-with-a-sore-throat" song.
Sunday our FOY Indigo Bunting (male) was eating seeds on the deck. I guess
he was passing through. I have yet to hear one sing around here.
One day last week we had our first female RT Hummer but have not seen her
since.
Lots of Pine Siskins are still around. I counted about a dozen today.
