After it was drained last summer and had grown up with weeds, some of us may
have given up on the pond on Belvoir Road in Marshall/The Plains. Now that
the vegetation has died back, a large number of wet spots are beginning to
reappear. Stopping there yesterday afternoon I found a dozen Killdeer, 6
American Pipits and two Wilson's Snipe. As the weather gets colder and
wetter things can only get better here.
