Greetings to all:
With the little rain that we have had lately, I decided to check out the
mudflats at Staunton River State Park today. I was surprise to see that there
wasn't any on the Dan River but there was plenty in the Staunton River. The
only shorebirds seen was a BB Plover and Killdeer but you can't seen all of the
flats from Staunton River State Park even though I walked out to the point were
the two rivers merge.
There was plenty of gulls with most being RB and 20 Bonaparte's and one Herring
Gull. The only duck was a Mallard heard but not seen.
Yesterday while in Danville getting inspection on car I saw a late Osprey at
the Woodall Nissan lot on the Riverwalk Trail.
Now waiting for the snow to come and bring on the winter birds in heavy.
May the LORD Bless and Keep you
