Birders - A friend of mine in the Vinton area lost his gyr x peregrine
hybrid falcon on Thursday evening. Evidently, a transmitter failure as he
was exercising her. It is a first year bird with brownish plumage, and was
lost near Roanoke. It is wearing anklets, a transmitter and a tag.
With Ivan blowing through, there is no telling where the bird might have
ended up. So just as an additional "eye" out there, if anyone sees her
please phone me and I'll get into touch with the owner.
