I was happy to see my first-of-the-year Ruby-throated Hummingbird (a male)
this evening (April 18) at the feeder on my deck. He only stayed a minute.
In the last couple of days a pair of Downy Woodpeckers have been sipping the
sugar water.
I also had a Chipping Sparrow today. Pine Siskins continue to come though
not in the huge numbers that I had earlier in the season - about 5 - 10 at a
time. The Juncos have left. The last time they were in my yard was April
11.
