I've been watching a Northern Flicker nest in my front yard for the last month.
I haven't seen much activity for the last three weeks but today they were out
there. I almost thought they had abandon the nest. Here's a link to a photo

Also, on my way home from the shop today, I decided to stop by a storm
management pond near my work to see if anything was there. To my delight, I saw
no less than 4 Green Herons! The pond is in the middle of Chantilly, just
behind the Expo Center on Sulleyfield circle around where Gold's Gym is
located.

I also saw what I think was a Spotted Sandpiper in the same pond. I'll post the
