Saw a Fox Sparrow in a private yard bordering parkland (Difficult Run stream
valley) this morning Friday March 9th.
It had been foraging on the grass (standard suburban trimmed yard) with a bunch
of Juncos. They all flew up to nearby trees as we approached. The Fox Sparrow
stayed in one branch perch for several minutes - very cooperative. Besides the
lovely red brown wings and chest spotting, we also got a nice size comparison
with a nearby Junco.
