Today there were two Fox Sparrows visiting under my feeders.
Took a few pictures - links to a couple are included below.
A few behavioral notes about Fox Sparrows - at least the ones visiting my
yard.
1) They were very skittish. Normally I can open my kitchen window and it is
far enough from the feeders that most of the regular birds don't react. The
Fox Sparrows would often fly just when I would approach the window.
2) The Fox Sparrows almost never stopped moving.
3) The Fox Sparrows seem to prefer to be in the shade. Guess this is not
really surprising as it makes them less visible to predators (and
photographers :-)
