A walk yesterday morning along the canal path in Fredericksburg resulted
in a species list of 55. In addition to the more usual birds, I noted
a Prothonotary Warbler (I had three along the path by the river last
week), a Yellow Warbler, 4 Northern Parulas, 13 Yellow-rumps, a Green
Heron, a male Baltimore Oriole, 4 male and 2 female Orchard Orioles, an
Adult Bald Eagle and an Osprey along the river, and a sizeable number of
DC Cormorants feeding on the fish run below the dam.
On my way to work two days ago, I found 2 Swainson's Thrushes and 4 Hermit
Thrushes in the Mary Washington College Amphitheater.
