Walked the canal path this morning after the days of rain and it was quite
alive with birds. Ruby-crowned Kinglets were everywhere. I counted 27 with 12
in one tree. Also had 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 3 blue-headed vireos
(together), 1 Swamp Sparrow, and 1 Hermit Thrush. Yellow-rumped Warblers and
White-throated Sparrows were back in numbers. Best bird was a single Rusty
Blackbird. In the Snowden wetlands.
