The weekly bird walk at Dyke Marsh, sponsored by the Friends of Dyke Marsh
was attended by 15 people this morning. It was a nice morning with strong
signs of fall migration. Two shovelers and a lesser yellowleg were off the
picnic area. In the picnic area a sharp eyed participant found a male
rose-breasted grosbeak in a cherry tree. Nearby we found a young prairie
warbler, yellow warbler, and black-and white warbler. Along the trail we
found a redstart (actually a yellow-start). We broke the string of least
bittern sightings, but ended up with a decent list of 58 species. The
