The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia fall warbler class had a field trip
to Leesylvania SP in Woodbridge this morning, to put classroom info to good
use. Activity was a bit slow but we did manage to see 10 warbler species.
We got pretty good looks at chestnut-sided, yellow, common yellowthroat,
black-and-white, prairie, magnolia, American redstart, yellow-throated,
northern parula, and Cape May. Other notables were a yellow-bellied
flycatcher, a Swainson's thrush, several yellow-billed cuckoos, and
red-headed woodpecker. The complete list is below.
