Yes, totally cool! Last week when my cousins and I were driving back to
Annapolis, we saw two definite and seven possible bald eagles! As we were
driving
north on Rt 301, between LaPlata and Waldorf, I happened to look up and saw
the unmistakable bookend whites of the eagles! I'd spotted one and as we
pulled off the road, I saw the second one. Brian had been fascinated with our
vultures as they have only buzzards in England. We'd seen lots of turkey
vultures in the sky and when I first saw the eagles I thought that's what it
was.
Then I noticed the different flight pattern AND the white ends! I pulled into
a
police barracks parking lot; Brian jumped out of the car with his telephoto
lens on his camera and began shooting. That's when I saw five more similarly
shaped/flying birds directly above us. They were too high to see the whites
but I am almost certain it was eagles. Very strange to see a grouping like
that (outside western areas, that is). I often see one or two eagles in the
dead
trees in a pond north of Fredericksburg, but this was the first time I'd
seen them flying. Seeing them anywhere/any time is always a thrill, as you well
know!

Dear Ann, Donna and Ed,
You will probably find this hard to believe, but I saw a bald eagle in
downtown Batesville yesterday morning!! It was in the road ahead of me at
8:30 as
I left for work, eating roadkill with 2 turkey vultures. At first I thought
there were 3 vultures, but when they flew out of my path, the white tail of
the eagle fanned out and I saw the white head and bright yellow/orange beak
in the sun... incredible!! Last night Doug played at Dr Ho's and another
neighbor was at the next table. Suddenly I heard him telling someone about
the
eagle he'd seen that morning near the bridge, downtown Bville... a witness!
We were both so excited to see it. Now I'm going to call the Bville store and
see how many others also reported it. Pretty cool, huh?!
