On the morning, Jan 22, 2018, I found 5 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at Old
Elkton Lake off Elkton Farm Road in Bedford County just west of Lynchburg.
Several other local birders also saw them later in the day. This is a
private lake but the owners are use to birders visiting there. Do not
block the access road. It is best to park on the side of Elkton Farm Road
and walk down the drive to the lake.
I looked for them again in the afternoon of Jan 23 but did not see them.
The geese flocks move around the area quite a bit so they may still be
around.
