I found myself along the George Washington Parkway checking out some
locations for the upcoming Christmas Bird Count on the 14th. It was rather
slow, except for LBJ Grove, which hosted up to a dozen Golden-crowned
Kinglets this morning. The mud flats at Boundary Channel had up to 30
Killdeer, the largest concentration I have seen there for some time,
although I rarely have time to check it thoroughly when I am at work at the
Pentagon. Not much else, but a nice day to be out.
