At about 10:30am this morning (Saturday, 11/30) we saw a dark-phase
Rough-legged Hawk hovering and then diving. The bird was just a short distance
from the fence towards the western end of the Wallops Island Airfield. This was
the same area where we had seen this species 2 winters ago (can't remember if
it was seen by anyone in this area last winter). It was a great way to say
goodbye to Chincoteague this morning. - Chris Ludwig
