We saw a male goldeneye pretty close to shore on Saturday at the inlet off
the bike path south of the Tulane Street exit of the Parkway. It was
associating with a female red-breasted merg and 3 female buffleheads. The
only other birds of note were two rusty blackbirds near the boardwalk at the
Big Gut.
