Last Saturday Andy Shell and I covered the Langley section of the DC CBC
Count. The incoming front certainly made it interesting. One of the smaller
parks (Clemyjontri Park), our starting point, was alive with birds.
Highlight was the Fox Sparrow. Across the street, Ford Langley Park,
surprised us with a good view of a Brown Thrasher and just for fun a few
hundred more Starlings. The unexpected birds in the forest were the over
flying Northern Harrier and a small group of Common Loons. Potomac School
had another nice surprise for us, a female Merlin! In spite of it being dark
and gray I managed to take a few acceptable picture for reference purposes.
