To be brief... Both species of orioles were singing away at Green Springs this
morning (Annandale FFX). There were two male Baltimore Orioles as well as one
female, and male and female Orchard Orioles down by the ponds in the Sycamores.
Also seen -- Purple Martins are back in force -- taking back (most of) their
house from House Sparrows. Red Shouldered Hawk, Kingbirds (could be nesting?),
phoebes, Yellow Rumps, Gnatcatchers, Brown Thrashers, Catbirds, and an
assortment of sparrows. A flight of Blue Jays were overhead -- 49 birds all
headed north.
