I had a late start this morning, but headed out to Grandview to mainly look for
Brant, but also see if the Snow Buntings and Lapland Longspurs were still
there. In my usual silliness, I forgot that it was duck hunting season. There
were a fair number of ducks out there, but they were mostly distant. The Snow
Buntings were feeding on grass seed heads in the very northern section of the
beach restoration area. At one point they flew out to one of the rock
breakwater structures, but eventually returned to the grass. I failed to find
any longspurs, but there are plenty of spots for them. 2015-01-19
