For the Breeding Bird Atlas we have a Probable for Grasshopper Sparrow, because
it’s been singing there for 7+ days.

This is a promising early indication for Fairfax County’s efforts to restore
grassland at the Sully Woodlands (parcel of the larger Elklick Woodlands
preserve).

Credit to Owen Williams for leading this county effort and for reporting the
first singing in June, on the 5th. I’m looking forward and hoping for a
breeding Confirmation.
