My FOS catbird was just heard singing in the yard and then found, and is just
about on schedule. First dates 2008-2006 were April 25, 20, and 22
respectively, and birds in any year could sneak in and be undetected for a few
days with my schedule.
I had one Purple Finch yesterday morning singing in the yard where I have only
had a few over the past winter. And the white-throated sparrow with a lot of
white feathers on the head, first seen in the yard November 28, was still here
as recently as this past Friday, and could still be around. Several others
are in fine form song-wise these days.
