I was astonished to see a very early Great Egret this morning while driving
along Zachary Taylor Highway (US 522) south of Culpeper. The exact location
was just southeast of #22799 Zachary Taylor Highway and just southeast of SR
652. The Egret was in a huge cultivated field quite close to the highway. The
map shows a small creek in or near that location, which I didn’t notice from
the car.
