Our group of five tallied 44 species on this comfortable summer morning. There
were only a handful of ducks on the river.
The eaglets having fledged were nowhere to be seen. Despite plenty of insects
on the river, there were just a few swallows.
We had good looks at orioles, red-eyed vireo and parula. The walk meets in the
visitor's center courtyard at 8:00am and all
are welcome. -- Marshall Rawson, McLean VA
